Chocolate Bars
An easy read subject & something that everyone can relate to...
We all enjoy some chocolate now and again - some more than others 😉 but we don't usually think about the history of chocolate while we are enjoying our
favourite chocolate bars. We also don't consider the ingredients that go into every single piece and with that comes the work of many, many different people. Some of the ingredients have travelled thousands of miles to create that indulgent moment for you.
Throughout our chocolate boxes we have a
range of different brands of chocolate as well as different flavours. From Cadbury's to Kinder and Almond to Salted Caramel, we have something for everyone!
Our smallest chocolate bar is a Cadbury's Dairy Milk Freddo bar, everyone's favourite! This little chocolate bar has had a price range from just 10p in 1994 to 30p in 2017 before being
lowered to 25p in 2018 to appease their fans; I think we all agree the taste is worth the money!
Are you reaching for your favourite chocolate more often than usual during lockdown? We all know that eating chocolate can help us feel better on a bad day, in fact, it has been proven that chocolate helps the brain release endorphins! Even the smell can enhance your mood so if in doubt have a square of Cadbury's chocolate or maybe some Galaxy, it'll make your day even better!
Salted Caramel has become a new favourite flavour in a chocolate bar; the most well-known brands have been sure to include it as a treat. My personal favourites have to be M&M Salted Caramel along with Lindt Excellence Caramel & Sea Salt. So you may be able to find these two tasty
products
featuring in some of our latest products (tagged below).
So why is Salted Caramel so popular & addictive? Due to the clear contrasts in flavours it leaves us wanting more and more with every bite, so we have made sure to not only include the best salted caramel bars but to make sure they are sharing size too!
Summer is on it's way, so what better way to get prepared than buying your favourite chocolate, but instead the ice cream version! My personal favourites
are currently Dairy Milk Crunchie as well as a KitKat ice cream. However, you're going to need to bulk buy quickly as rumour has it ice cream prices may
be rising by up to 20% due to vanilla crops being destroyed in Madagascar forcing the prices to increase!
We may think that chocolate just appears in our local supermarkets ready for us to buy as and when we feel craving, however this is not the case. Chocolate
has a long journey before reaching our hands, this starts from the cocoa beans around from around the world. To process 1kg of chocolate it would take around 889 cocoa beans! The popular, well-known and Fairtrade marked brand, Green & Black's, source their cocoa beans from a local Ghanian farm to bring only the best to their customers. We love the story behind Green & Black's which is why we have included their bars in our latest hampers (tagged below).
